Treatment and counseling of mental patients at home

Mental patients are abandoned by their families at various railway stations, religious places etc. We do not know his name or his heirs. So they are destitute to us. But there are many humanely alive families who take care of such psychopaths at home. The number of psychiatric home care is higher among economically weaker sections than economically stronger sections.

Despite financial constraints, they take care of the mental patient at home, because they cannot buy mental health, the disease gets stronger. The family is left with no choice but to knock on God’s door or abandon the patient. With the sudden loss of all support and a roof over the head, the fate of living destitute comes and begins the life affordances of these unfortunate souls. They have neither name nor identity. Only traces of humanity remain, covered in scars. This activity is carried out according to our opinion that “if the mentally ill patients are treated and taken care at home, then there will be no need for institutions like Sewa Sankalp”.

A mentally ill needs love more than medicines and can only get it from family and this plan for that. It takes love and relation to treat a mentally ill and family is the only place to get it. Considering their need, Sewa Sankalp provides free doctors, counselors and treatment to such patients. Many families have the illusion of having two meals a day. They are provided ration by Sewa Sankalp.

Counseling, treatment and necessary support services are provided through Sankalp to manage psychiatric patients at home. The aim is to keep the mentally ill at home from becoming homeless.
